What will you do :
- Plan, organize, and direct mechanical utility projects from start to finish under the supervision of the Manager, Mechanical Engineering.
- Develop mechanical engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Prepare written reports for mechanical utility maintenance and construction programs.
- Manage all phases of the project, including concept, design, construction, and closeout.
What you need to succeed :
Requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with P.Eng. Designation in Canada and must be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in the Yukon.Experience and knowledge of power utility maintenance and / or operations.Detailed knowledge of mechanical engineering theory, design and operating mechanism / parameters of hydro-generator and thermal units.Working knowledge of mechanical engineering codes and standards, and regulations that apply to electrical utility generation facilities.Ability to work independently on engineering projects.Working knowledge of Project Management processes and principles.Ability to perform project manager’s role for electric utility projects.Excellent ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and outside agents.Ability to create drawings and write specifications, prepare cost estimates, prepare construction contracts and request for proposals.Must be self-motivated and versatile and thrive on a variety of work.Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license.Compensation : Competitive salary and benefit package.
