Class 3 Driver - $1000 Signing Bonus

Nanaimo, BC Full-time $25.60 / hour

We are currently looking for Class 3 drivers to join our Nanaimo Curbside Waste Collection Team to drive a recycle / garbage truck through the neighborhoods providing the waste collection in our communities. A local,family-owned business, Adams Heavy Duty Contracting has been operatingacross Canada since 2005. What willyour day look like?

  • Safe and efficient operation of a Class 3 recycle / garbage truck (with air brakes)
  • Conduct all activities in accordance with the collection schedule
  • Collect garbage / recycling / yard waste from residential neighbourhoods, apartment buildings, businesses, and other facilities
  • Work safely in accordance with WorkSafeBC and company policies
  • Conduct daily inspection of vehicle and accurately complete related documentation
  • Communicate with supervisor regarding concerns or suggestions
  • Dispose of curbside collections according to set policies and procedures at the designated disposal sites.

    • What do weneed from you?

  • Class 3 drivers license with air brake endorsement
  • Clean driving record (abstract required)
  • Minimum 1 year experience driving Class 3 vehicles
  • Safety minded approach to the daily tasks
  • Ability to work outdoors and safely lift up to 50lbs
  • Customer service and public interaction skills – written and verbal
  • Ability to pass a criminal record check and drug / alcohol test
  • Reliability, dedicated and team minded

    • Job Types : Full-time, Permanent

    Wage :  $25.60 / Hrto start

    28.33 / Hrplus $3.50 / Hr for the incentive program after probation of 3 months is over

    Fully paidbenefits after probation.

    1000 hirebonus to be paid out after passing probation.
