Overview of Role

The responsibility of this role is to oversee and monitor the daily operations and strategic goals of the Burnaby, BC branch. The Branch Manager will manage a team upwards of 60 people (through direct reports). Will be accountable for safety and will ensure service quality and delivery and overall growth of the branch operations. This role will ensure that the team and branch operation is meeting the organization’s standard operating procedures and budgets are being met. This role will work closely with a variety of stakeholder teams across the organization.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be an operations leader with a strong operations / service background and a track record of success, preferably gained in a related services business. Health, sanitation, facilities and safety services or experiences gained in service-based organizations are of strong interest. A leader that has a proven track record that includes direct people management experience and the ability to manage in a hands-on manner within a diverse work environment. Further development of people resources to the next level. An exhibited passion for people / staff within a customer centric business. Must be able to relate to both national local customers accordingly to KPI’s via team of employees. Ultimately comfortable to commit progress initiatives to Safety, Customer Satisfaction, Quality delivery and growth of the branch.

This individual will combine a strong operational leadership skill set with a highly developed customer acumen. Must have a proven track record in a customer facing business. The candidate must have experience in driving cost savings, improving productivity and overall service performance of an operation in a measurable manner. Operational budget accountability in a previous role is required. The ideal candidate will possess well-developed influencing skills and should have the ability to manage internal and external relationships to achieve a high level of successful outcomes for the operation(s), company, and clients alike.

The successful candidate should display a strong inclination towards problem solving with a drive to achieve solutions that are beneficial to both the customer and to the organization’s overall mission. This individual should be comfortable interacting at all levels of the business and with customers and possess a dynamic engaging personality. This individual will be energetic and be a proactive leader who can thrive in a dynamic and challenging business environment.

KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of field services management or services-based roles, with proven operational and people leadership of customer facing teams. Must have led direct reports (ideally other managers) and preferably dispersed or multi location teams. Industry experience can vary – field services, facilities, workplace solutions, fleet, etc. Pest control and / or fleet experience is a strong asset.
  • Proven people manager with experience leading direct teams in diverse environments. Strong relationship building skills, high EQ and the ability to coach, mentor, and hold teams accountable.
  • Effectively leads teams through change, fostering resilience, alignment, and continuous improvement in a dynamic and fast-moving environment.
  • Excellence in providing clear and concise feedback, performance management and coaching.
  • Skilled in managing and leading assigned projects - understanding of project management methodology.
  • Will have managed operational budget(s). P&L experience is considered an asset. Must have strong business and financial acumen.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and agility in a fast-paced environment, effectively responding to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to timely follow-up, keeping stakeholders informed, addressing concerns promptly, and ensuring seamless workflow continuity.
  • Strong written, verbal, and public speaking skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and regularly with staff and stakeholders.
  • Maintains a valid driver’s licence.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Google Applications.
  • Willing to obtain a pest control license.
  • Position may require some travel in the field.
  • High school diploma is required; a Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strong understanding of corporate operations.
  • Must be willing to maintain a regular in person presence at the Burnaby branch (this is not a hybrid role).
  • Understands the importance of a strong leadership pipeline (bench strength) and maintains ongoing efforts to assess needs and coach / develop others.
  • Demonstrates a proactive and optimistic mindset, contributing to a culture of encouragement and problem-solving.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence all levels and manage high-volume, competing priorities with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work at heights and lift in excess of fifty pounds.
  • Able to demonstrate high levels of drive, work ethic and personal accountability with the ability to work under pressure while maintaining sound judgement and a rigorous focus on the details.
  • Supports the team by providing guidance and removing roadblocks.
