Job description

The Product Manager is responsible for product planning and marketing, with a focus on leading the full product life cycle. This position requires liaising with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Production, Service, Service Parts, as well as dealers and end users to ensure company goals and customer requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Managing the full product life cycle through the concept, specification, design, launch and maintenance phases
  • Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting research through on-going visits with dealers and end users of the product
  • Develop, implement and execute product marketing plans
  • Define strategic planning and customer targets
  • Work closely with Engineering to define product release requirements and modifications
  • Complete regular competitive product and price comparisons
  • Predict costs and prices for future products ensuring their profitability
  • Analyze and prioritize requests for product improvements
  • Determine industry trends and forecast accordingly to ensure that the strategic goals of the company are met
  • Develop product training materials
  • Research ways to develop new markets
  • Travel to dealers and attend farm shows

Job Requirements :

  • Experience as a Product Manager or combination of experience in a directly related progressive role in Sales / Marketing or Project Management
  • Experience with agricultural equipment is as asset
  • The ability to work with multiple cross-functional teams on a regular basis is required
  • Strong product and project management skills
  • A good knowledge base with mechanical systems is an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of computers and software, such as Microsoft Office products
  • Related post-secondary education is an asset
  • Ability to travel freely is required
  • Occasional work periods at test sites and in the R&D shop
