Job Summary :
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director, Financial Services plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the financial operations of the University of the Fraser Valley. The Director, Financial Services is responsible for the financial administration and statutory financial reporting for the University and provides strategic leadership and management to all aspects of financial operations, accounting, payroll, forecasting, managing key performance indicators and financial reporting.
The Director, Financial Services will engage with University leadership and cross-departmental teams to define and implement Institutional strategies designed to support the achievement of UFV’s goals, students and academic mission. In addition, the Director plays an integral role in establishing and maintaining the University’s financial integrity and supports the goals and priorities of the University’s integrated plans.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative and innovative leader and change-maker who looks beyond the numbers and sees opportunities to support teaching and learning. The Director, Financial Services will effectively align with the mission, vision, and values of the University and will thrive in a values-driven organization, working in partnership with a variety of constituent groups. The successful individual will have demonstrated an ability to produce practical financial information which allows senior leaders to make informed decisions and will be skilled at enabling new ideas. In addition, they will ideally bring experience in project implementation and sound knowledge of how to create integrated people and systems plans into the overall operations of a large and complex organization.
