Purpose of the Job
The RPA Engineer provides technical expertise and assists with solution design, development, and implementation of BPI (business process improvement) automation initiatives. This position is the main technology point of contact for RPA / IPA (Intelligent Process Automation) initiatives, liaising directly with the business analysts and technology (Enterprise Architecture, IT Security, and Information Management) to manage policies, set standards, and design and implement scalable and robust automated solutions.
Solution Design and Architecture :
Design and architect solutions that address business requirements and objectivesCreate design specifications, architectural diagrams, technical documentationCollaborate with business & technology stakeholders to ensure agreement in areas such as coding standards, feasibility, execution, and decisions on hosting solutions which may impact architecture, security, application support, and business continuityMitigate security implications including external & internal threats, poor design, unsecured data management, and network vulnerabilitiesAssist in vendor & tool evaluation to determine best fit for the organization’s needs by assessing features, capabilities, scalability, and compatibility with existing systemsCoordinate and oversee the infrastructure setup for the development, test and production environmentsTechnical Leadership and Guidance :Provide technical guidance to multi-discipline / cross functional teams and stakeholdersDefine and oversee the technical standards, best practices and architectural guidelines for implementationsCollaborate with stakeholders to develop objectives and implementation roadmaps outline the scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, and estimatesMentor and train team members on tools, technologies, and development methodologies and frameworksSolution Development and Implementation :Oversee and participate in the development and implementation of solutionsCollaborate with developers to design, configure, build, and deploy automation workflowsConduct code reviews and perform testing to ensure solutions are compliant and robustAddress technical issues or challenges that arise during implementationSupport and assist in the resolution of production issuesMaintain awareness of enterprise-wide technology changes to proactively manage impact on deployed solutionsKnowledge / Skill Requirements
Knowledge / Skill RequirementsPost-secondary degree or diploma in technology, computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experienceMinimum of 7 years of experience in technology, with at least 2 years of experience in RPAExpertise in automation technologies to facilitate, manage and oversee enterprise automation, including the selection of related tools and softwareExperience in IT infrastructure, security, and an advanced understanding of the tools and software that drive enterprise automationComprehensive analytical and strategic planning acumen as it relates to business technologyAdvanced technical understanding of emerging and mature business technologies and the security measures applicable to them, in the areas of data analytics, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Enterprise Content Management (ECM), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, Web Content Management Systems (CMS), Workflow and BPM softwareAdvanced knowledge of process assessments and understanding of RPA applications in varying business domainsExpertise in at least one of the market leading RPA platforms, such as UiPath, Power Platform, Blue PrismExperience with end-to-end automation including RPA proof of conceptsApplied experience and a track record of execution in client experience management and employee enablement through the use of automation toolsStrong written and oral communication skills, including facilitation, presentation and the ability to communicate at executive levelStrong research and report writing skills
