Educational Assistant - Temporary - Part-time

Foothills School Division is currently seeking temporary Educational Assistants to support Indigenous learners. The available positions are part-time at 13 hours per week (0.4 FTE) and 19.5 hours per week (0.6 FTE). This rewarding assignment is based on Jordan’s Principle grant funding.

The preferred candidate will demonstrate capacity within their role to :

• Work as a collaborative team member to support Indigenous students in Foothills School Division with academic supports, social emotional supports, behavioral supports, and participation in cultural programs.
• Implement SLP, OT, and PT recommendations for students when necessary.
• Support complex needs of students in a flexible learning environment.
• Support cultural appreciation and understanding in a safe, caring and welcoming school environment.
• Creation of materials under the direction of the teacher to support the learning of identified students.
• Strong communication with classroom teachers regarding identified students.
• Contribute to the collection of data in support of the Jordan’s Principle grant.

Experience working with indigenous students with complex needs is an asset If you would describe yourself as possessing a love for all children, with strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to multi-task in a busy school team environment then we welcome your application.
