The Corporate Planning and Financial Analysis Group at Loblaw is responsible for the consolidation, analysis and presentation of capital forecasts, budgets and 3-year plans.
This position focusses on building / maintaining macro planning models and incorporating strategic insights using post investment analysis.
The position offers the right individual the opportunity to develop a solid understanding of the Company and translate that knowledge into a clear message for management reporting.
The colleague will play a key role in partnering with Corporate FP&A and Treasury functions to support strategic projects and financial reporting needs of the business.
ACCOUNTABILITIES :
- Prepare / Maintain the 3 Year Capital Plan.
- Manage the consolidation of the Capital Forecast closely to ensure targets are achieved.
- Generate Quarterly Board Reports on Capital LE and Spend.
- Prepare working capital forecast for cash flow forecasting (Treasury).
- Partner with various teams on developing business case for new strategic projects, includes evaluation of new projects, IRRs, long term modelling and competitive benchmarking
- Lead the quarterly review of post investment analysis.
- Lead special projects and ad-hoc reporting
- Provide recommendations on process improvements and opportunities to enhance controls.
- Manage two direct reports : Manager and CPA Student.
SKILLS REQUIRED :
- Completed CFA, CPA or MBA, or working towards the designation.
- Minimum of 3-5 years related planning and forecasting work experience.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills would be a definite asset; and
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
