Field Service Technicians provide customers with maintenance and repair assistance of CNC machine tools and automation systems on site or by telephone. They establish and build exemplary communication and customer service relationships with customers and distributors. The individual manages difficult customer situations in a positive manner, responds promptly to customer needs and solicits customer feedback to improve service.
Other tasks will include :
- Travel to customer sites to completely diagnose and repair machine tools.
- Competently diagnose and repair machine tools at customer site
- Install machine tools to OEM specifications and demonstrating as required
- Provide telephone support relating to service and part issues
- Identify and order spare parts
- Accurately complete service-related reports
- Train customers on machine tool functionality and service-related issues
- Support other departments as required including sales process
- Train new staff in the repair of machine tools
- Represent the company in a courteous and professional manner
- Successfully participate in product-related training
- Comply with targets and quotas

Good verbal and written communication skills with exceptional customer service orientationMust be able to interact and effectively communicate in person and over the phone with people at all levels of an organizationProven ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and sequence (PLC) ladder diagramsBasic computer literacy and working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and OutlookMust be adaptable to changes in the work environment; manage competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected eventsMinimum of 65% travel in multi-province region; drive or fly, depending on distance. Employee is expected to work at the Technical Center when not visiting customers.A valid driver’s license. A copy of a current driver’s abstract may be requested.Physical Demands :
Exposure to manufacturing / machining environments and related hazards which may include noise, electricity, chemicals, heavy equipment, and other automated and manual machinery. Work Environment :8 hour work schedule with overtime as necessary. Frequent : standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting heavy parts, pushing, and pulling, repetitive foot, leg, hand, arm, shoulder, and torso movements.
