Position :  Operations Manager - Manufacturing

Location :  Brantford

Employment Type :  Full-Time

Major Responsibilities :

In this pivotal role, you will lead and oversee all operational functions within our facility, ensuring high performance, financial accountability, and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include :

  • Managing the purchasing process for all goods, services, and utilities to align with operational requirements.
  • Ensuring production schedules are optimizing efficiency and meeting demand.
  • Overseeing production, maintenance, physical distribution, and daily operations.
  • Maintaining accurate records for all company assets and ensuring compliance.
  • Leading project management initiatives, such as process improvements, equipment upgrades, and achieving operational goals.

Duties :

  • Leading a team of 6 direct reports
  • Oversee the purchase of goods and services while controlling raw material and packaging inventories.
  • Collaborate with the company’s Canadian locations to establish and manage production schedules efficiently.
  • Select and negotiate with suppliers; audit suppliers with the support of technical staff when needed.
  • Review and process documents related to purchased goods, services, customs, and duty brokerage; apply for duty rebates where applicable.
  • Follow ISO procedures and maintain thorough documentation in purchasing, inventory, and physical distribution functions.
  • Approve payables for materials and services.

    • Education, Experience, and Specific Skills :

    To be successful in this role, you'll need :

  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience  in a management position within a small to mid-sized manufacturing environment
  • A  Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management , or a related field (extensive related work experience will also be considered).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite ; experience with ERP systems is an asset.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and develop a team.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
