Now Hiring : Executive Director for The Ontario Queer Chamber of Commerce (formerly OGLCC)!

The OQCC, a cornerstone of support for 2SLGBTQI+ businesses and professionals, is seeking a visionary  Executive Director  to lead our organization into an exciting new chapter.

We are embarking on a bold journey, implementing a  brand-new strategic plan  designed to rebuild and reinvigorate our organization after the challenges posed by COVID-19. This is a unique opportunity for a dedicated leader to shape the future of an established Chamber committed to empowering 2SLGBTQI+ entrepreneurs and fostering inclusive economic growth.

For over 25 years our Chamber has championed 2SLGBTQI+ businesses, provided essential resources, and created vibrant networking opportunities. While the pandemic posed significant challenges, it also inspired a renewed need and focus on innovation, resilience, and community building. With a revitalized strategic plan in place, we are poised for growth and transformation.

The Role

As Executive Director, you will :

  • Lead the Rebuild : Oversee the implementation of our new strategic plan, rebuilding the Chamber's presence, impact, and sustainability Ontario-wide
  • Drive Growth : Develop innovative strategies to expand membership, partnerships, and funding opportunities.
  • Amplify Advocacy : Represent the needs of 2SLGBTQI+ businesses at local, provincial, and national levels.
  • Strengthen Community : Reignite connections with members, allies, and stakeholders, ensuring our Chamber remains a trusted resource and advocate.
  • Manage Operations : Oversee daily operations, including staff, finances, and events, to ensure the organization thrives.
  • Guide the Board of Directors : Meet with the board to guide and work with them to effectively manage the chamber.

What We’re Looking For

We’re searching for someone who :

  • Has a proven track record in not for profit leadership, business development, and strategic planning.
  • Experience in association management is an asset
  • Is passionate about 2SLGBTQI+ advocacy and economic empowerment.
  • Brings exceptional organizational, fundraising, and communication skills.
  • Thrives on turning challenges into opportunities and driving meaningful change.
  • Is energized by the opportunity to rebuild and grow an organization post-COVID.
  • Has lived experience in the 2SLGBTQI+ community.
  • To thrive in this position, you should possess skills in the following :

  • Quickbooks
  • Microsoft Office applications
  • Google workspace
  • As the executive director, you will be expected to work a regular 37-hour work week. You may also be required to travel to attend chamber events, and work weekends and extra hours when it is necessary to do so.

  • Compensation

    Compensation for this role is sourced from temporary government funding and continuation of the role is contingent on the chamber becoming profitable after the government funds have been exhausted.

  • Salary : $80,000- $90,000 (negotiable based on experience)
  • Travel allowance when necessary.
