65,000 to $75,000, depending on experience and qualifications.Summary
The Project Coordinator will provide support to the Senior Project Manager & Estimator who specializes in hydroelectric projects with an emphasis on the refurbishment of penstock lining and coating systems. This role will also provide support to the other members of the Project Management department when possible. The Project Coordinator will provide administrative support including managing and producing documents and accessing the BC Hydro portal to download and submit documents. With support and guidance from the Project manager, the coordinator will assist in generating technical documents from templates such as schedules, construction plans, labour schedules, and procurement documents, and creating document submission packages. They will assist in the planning, execution, and delivery of projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with specifications. Efficient completion of project deliverables with high quality and a resourceful and independent thinker are keys to success in this position.
Job Duties
Assist Project Management staff with administrative tasks such as managing and producing documents, generating technical documents from templates, and reviewing documents throughout different stages of projects.Prepare and submit documents to BC Hydro that are clear, concise, and free of mistakes.Ensure electronic files are maintained and updated as needed.Assist in the tracking of project costs to ensure completion within budget.Review, edit, and prepare documents, reports and other correspondence materials for the Project Management team.Assist with resource scheduling so that team members have the resources they need to complete projects.Manage project documents such as the project plan, subcontract procurement, budget, schedule or scope statement, as directed by the project managers.Prepare draft reports, background documentation, presentation preparation, and research.Maintain a professional image and demeanor with all employees, management, executives and visitors at all times.Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all interactions.Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements
Post- Secondary education or equivalent experience in a related field.2 years’ direct work experience in an administrative capacity.Strong knowledge of the construction industry.Able to write and format complex correspondence, including e-mails, letters, project documents, etc.High computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.Intermediate to advanced knowledge of excel is preferred.Ability to work under pressure with a sense of purpose and urgency.Professional, responsive, and positive work attitude is essential.Meticulous records maintenance skills with the ability to maintain filing systems and basic databases.Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to communicate with all levels of the organization.Excellent writing skills, including proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.Excellent teamwork and team building skills.Previous experience in handling confidential or sensitive information.Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.High level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and discretion.Summation
