Overview :
The Systems Quality Lead will act as the primary onsite representative for overseeing the design changes, supply, installation, and testing of systems within the Broadway Subway Project. Reporting to the Quality Director, the Systems Quality Lead collaborates closely with the Systems Assurance Manager and System Construction Manager to maintain compliance with project quality management standards. This role is critical for ensuring the integration of advanced technologies, compliance with stringent quality standards, design requirements, and adherence to project-specific documentation, testing, and audit requirements.
What you will be doing :
Quality Oversight
- Manage and lead all systems quality inspection activities to ensure compliance with project-specific Quality Management Plans (QMPs), ISO 9001 standards and Client requirements.
- Oversee Implemented advanced technologies for quality assurance, such as IoT-enabled quality monitoring, digital twins, and defect detection systems.
- Verify subcontractor adherence to Design and Construction Certification Procedures and Interface Management requirements.
Testing and Compliance
Supervise testing procedures for railway systems, including trackwork, Tunnel Ventilation System, Communication, propulsion power systems, and other critical infrastructure, ensuring alignment with standards like EN 50126 and EN 50129.Ensure that the testing meets ISO / IEC 17025 and CSA standards requirements, particularly for materials such as structural steel and concrete.Document nonconformities and corrective actions using a live, internet-based tracking system as required.Prepare, review, and submit quality documentation, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and its traceability, monthly Quality Management System (QMS) reports, and final Quality Reports.Facilitate and document results of quality audits in compliance with ISO 19011, ensuring the timely closeout of identified deficiencies.Maintain accurate records of all quality control activities, nonconformities, and corrective actions.Continuous Improvement
Conduct root cause analyses with cross-functional teams and implemented improvements in collaboration with project teams.Promote continual improvement through Management Reviews and training programs for staff and subcontractors.Technical Expertise
Proficiency in using BIM and IoT technologies for quality tracking and defect analysis.Extensive knowledge of complex rail systems, including Communication, trackwork, signals and propulsion power, and relevant standards like ISO 9001, EN 50126, EN50129, and CSA W178.Competence in analyzing design and construction integration to identify and mitigate quality risks.Project Management
Ability to coordinate complex systems quality processes across multiple teams and stakeholders.Strong understanding, implementation, verification, and validation of the requirements.Ensure process compliance for the project implementation.Soft Skills
Exceptional problem-solving skills to address real-time challenges in a high-pressure environment.Advanced communication skills for reporting and collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including provincial representatives.What you must have :
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical qualification with relevant field experience.5–10 years of quality management experience in railway systems, focusing on mechanical and electrical integrity.ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification (priority).Familiarity with project-specific QMS frameworks, including live nonconformity tracking systems.Knowledge of ISO 19650 for digital construction and experience with digital twins.Prior experience with Canadian standards such as CSA W47.1 and W59 for welding and structural inspections.Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and integrate innovative technologies in quality assurance.Salary / Rate Range : $135,000 – $145,000
