We are hiring for a company in the chemical manufacturing industry with an immediate opening for a 309A Master Electrician at in Mississauga, ON.

Start Date : Immediately

Shift : Days - 7 : 00 am to 3 : 00 pm (with occasional overtime)

Locations :

  • Primary : Mavis Rd and Dundas St W
  • Secondary : Don Mills Rd and Eglinton Ave E (travel required approx. 20% of the time)

Rate : $52.74 / hr (with annual increases anticipated)

Responsibilities :

  • Inspect, repair, install, modify, and maintain electrical and electronic systems, circuits, and equipment in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system failures and perform daily checks and preventive maintenance on plant equipment.
  • Source and fabricate replacement electrical components as required.
  • Test electrical systems, including ground, bond, and protective devices, ensuring compliance with codes and regulations.
  • Manage and maintain spare electrical components, providing input on preventive maintenance systems.
  • Create and interpret electrical drawings, redline single-line diagrams, and provide updates to the Engineering Assistant.
  • Supervise and coordinate electrical contractors while serving as the point of contact for project owners and electrical vendors.
  • Collaborate with the instrumentation technician to install and commission control logic, equipment, and programming as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate records of all electrical work performed under the Continuous Safety Services (CSS) program.
  • Ensure adherence to site-wide electrical classification drawings and regulatory compliance.
  • Requirements :

  • Must hold a valid 309A Master Electrician license (Red Seal) .
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a licensed electrician, with at least 2 years in an industrial plant, preferably in a chemical production environment.
  • Knowledge of Pumps, Compact Motors, Chemicals and Motor Control Centre (MCC) in a chemical manufacturing company an asset.
  • Knowledge of industrial electrics, instrumentation, and mechanical repair procedures.
  • Experience working with electrical classification areas and equipment in compliance with safety standards.
  • Strong understanding of equipment specifications and functionality within a chemical processing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
