Position Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer to provide engineering support and execute projects within a designated business unit. This role involves managing small-to-mid-sized capital projects, ensuring completion within scope, budget, and timeline, while maintaining a strong focus on safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with team members to assess engineering support needs and prioritize Engineering Work Orders (WO).
  • Ensure projects align with established execution standards and guidelines.
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams during the scoping phase to clarify scope justifications.
  • Prepare and obtain approval for Authorization for Expenditures (AFEs).
  • Work with engineers, designers, and third-party firms to create accurate, constructible work packages (CWPs).
  • Review engineering deliverables with Maintenance and Construction Coordinators for practical application.
  • Conduct risk assessments and manage project changes effectively.
  • Oversee project schedules and budgets, providing support during procurement and construction phases.
  • Develop yearly budgets, cost forecasts, and long-term project plans.
  • Ensure proper project closure upon completion.

Health, Safety, and Environment :

  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Report any injuries, unsafe conditions, or acts immediately.
  • Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
  • Qualifications :

  • Education : Engineering degree (Mechanical, Civil, Materials, Metallurgical) preferred; Technologist degree with piping design may be considered.
  • Certification : Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Alberta or equivalent.
  • Experience : 4+ years of experience in oil & gas facilities, with 5-10 years preferred, and a background in operations, maintenance, and capital projects.
  • Skills : Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills; capable of working in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Additional : Familiarity with process safety reviews (MOC, PHA, HAZOP) and Alberta OH&S regulations.
  • Work Schedule :

  • Shift : 4 days on, 3 days off (10-hour shifts).
  • Location : Fort McMurray, Alberta.
  • Travel : Fly-In / Fly-Out from Calgary or Edmonton available.
