Based out of the School Board Office and under the direction of the Superintendent, this is a part-time, 5 hours a day, term position starting as soon September 5, 2023. This position will be at multiple schools and will require you to have your own reliable vehicle. The Nisga’a School District is situated at the end of a paved highway 97 km north of Terrace, a community with a Regional Airport offering regular two-hour air service to Vancouver. The lands of the Nisga'a Nation are blessed with soaring mountains, dramatic lava beds and thriving rivers and streams. The natural beauty of Nisga'a lands is complemented by the rich cultural traditions of the Nisga’a Nation. There is a wealth of outdoor activities to enjoy in the area, including fishing, hiking, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and much more. T he successful candidate will have demonstrated : A certificate in Early Childhood Education A valid Child Safe First Aid Certificate Experience creating, planning, implementing and budgeting for a parent participation early learning program Strong verbal and written communications skills and interpersonal skills Good organizational and planning skills An understanding of, and commitment to, quality early learning Knowledge of child development, family dynamics, community resources and early learning Applications must be made in writing, accompanied by 3 work related references and transcript(s) that address level(s) of competency in the above qualifications.
