Job description

Our client, an established Edmonton known for being at the forefront of educational design, are looking for a Senior Architectural Technologist to join their growing team. This is a multidiscipline firm that pride themselves on their collaborative approach, and endeavor to be culturally aware and open to new ideas on every project they work on. In addition to a strong emphasis on educational design, other project types include healthcare, multi-family, institutional, First Nations and civic and community centres.

  • this is a hybrid work model, 3 days a week in office

Responsibilities :

  • Lead and manage the technical aspects of architectural projects from concept through completion.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of project plans, ensuring they meet client requirements and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Utilize Revit for design development, construction documentation, and project coordination.
  • Conduct comprehensive quality control reviews of project deliverables to ensure accuracy, compliance with design intent, and adherence to industry standards.
  • Implement and maintain quality control processes to monitor and verify the quality of work throughout all project phases.
  • Identify and address potential quality issues early in the project lifecycle to prevent costly errors and rework.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior staff and team members.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve project outcomes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the design and construction phases.
  • Qualifications :

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Architecture or Technical program, with 8+ years in architectural design and project management.
  • Must have prior experience in institutional, recreational and commercial projects.
  • Proficiency in Revit is required.
  • You will have sound knowledge of local building codes, bylaws and construction practices.
  • You will possess strong time management and customer services skills, be organized and have the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • The successful candidate will receive a base salary of $85K- $95K+ bonus (dependent on experience) + extended benefits, 3 weeks vacation and the week off over Christmas.
