We are seeking an experienced and highly organized 3D Landscape and Urban Design Visualization Specialist to join our Toronto team immediately. Position Overview : The 3D Landscape and Urban Design Visualization Specialist is responsible for creating high-quality 3D visualizations that bring conceptual and built environments to life. This role is ideal for an expert in 3D modeling who can efficiently and accurately create large-scale landscape and urban design models. The ideal candidate must have a deep knowledge to create 3d terrain models and architectural elements based on accurate landscape grading plans, urban planning, and architectural modeling, as well as expertise in multiple 3D design tools. What you will be doing : Design & Hand Sketches Develop detailed storyboard of artwork by digital hand sketches to interpret the design space. Drawing to show details of camera angles, image composition, mood, shade and shadows, etc. 3D Modeling & Texturing Develop detailed 3D models of outdoor environments, structures, hardscapes, and vegetation based on design hand sketches and reference materials from cad software namely Vectorworks Landmark, Revit and AutoCad. Create and apply textures, materials, and detailed foliage assets that accurately reflect real-world conditions. Lighting & Rendering Set up lighting, shadows, and environments to produce photorealistic or stylized images / animations. Use industry-standard rendering engines (e.g. D5 Render, Twinmotion, Unreal Engine) to deliver high-quality still images, panoramas, and walkthroughs. Design Collaboration Work closely with landscape architects and urban designers to understand project goals, site constraints, and design principles. Participate in design reviews, incorporate feedback, and iterate visualizations to align with the overall project vision. Workflow & Asset Management Maintain an organized library of 3D assets (plants, materials, people, vehicles, etc.) for efficient project turnaround. Follow firm-wide standards for file naming, storage, and archiving to ensure easy collaboration and retrieval of assets. Software & Tools Proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering tools such as Rhino, SketchUp, Blender, Gravity Sketch (VR). Familiarity with post-production tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) to enhance and finalize visuals. Technical & Conceptual Problem-Solving Troubleshoot technical issues related to modeling, texturing, rendering, or performance. Explore new technologies (e.g., VR / AR, real-time engines, interactive walkthroughs) to improve visualization capabilities. Quality Control & Deadlines Ensure all renderings meet the firm’s quality standards, including accuracy and visual appeal. Manage timelines effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines without compromising on quality. Client & Presentation Support Prepare presentation materials such as renderings, diagrams, and short animations. Assist in client-facing presentations. Assist with ad hoc requests. What you bring along : Bachelor’s degree in 3D Art, Game Art, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Environmental Design, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). 5+ years of professional experience in 3D visualization, preferably within landscape architecture, urban design, or architectural visualization. Demonstrable portfolio featuring realistic outdoor environments, urban contexts, or comparable projects. Sound knowledge in Landscape BIM software Vectorworks Landmark, Revit, AutoCAD Good knowledge of the use of point cloud models and 3d site scanning / photogrammetry is an asset. Advanced knowledge of 3D modeling software (e.g. Rhino, SketchUp, Blender, Gravity Sketch) and rendering engines (D5 Render, Twinmotion, Unreal Engine). Proficiency in texturing and material creation, including PBR workflows. Good demonstration of lighting, composition, and color theory. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with a passion for problem-solving and innovation in 3D design. Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
