We are currently searching for a Maintenance Technician / Millwright Apprentice. If you have completed a three to four-year apprenticeship program or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trades with some high school, college or industry courses in industrial machinery repair or millwrighting, we want to hear from you.

Your tasks as the Maintenance Technician :

  • Works alongside Millwrights to install, maintain and repair industrial machinery and mechanical equipment
  • Ensures documentation related to equipment and maintenance is up-to-date and appropriately stored.
  • Reads diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Operates machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set up of machinery.
  • Cleans, lubricates and performs other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Other duties assigned
  • The required qualifications of the Maintenance Technician :

  • In office 5 days a week
  • Three to five years experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least one to two years experience in a similar role.
  • Completion of a three to four-year apprenticeship program or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in industrial machinery repair or millwrighting is required to be eligible for trade certification.
  • Knowledge of mixing and formulating processes is beneficial.
  • Flexible with working hours.
  • Skill competencies include computer, problem-solving, analysis, communication, interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and communication skills
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50lbs and working with PPE (glasses, helmet, hearing protection, safety boots, respirator as required), working at heights and in confined spaces Previous experience in a heavy industrial environment is preferred, especially from a cement or mining surface plant
  • WHMIS training.
