Job Summary
The Welder lays out, positions, fabricates, repairs, and secures mechanical parts, as per specification. Working within the company’s welding shop and field service, this position is responsible for fabricating or repairing equipment and parts, while reducing or eliminating equipment down time.
Main Responsibilities
- Ability to read and work from shop / production drawings, blueprints, and welding process specifications.
- Ability to read and understand welding symbol to produce a sound, clean, and quality weld.
- Fit and prepare jigs for welding components.
- Operate brazing and soldering equipment.
- Operate metal shaping machines, metal straightening and bending machines.
- Safely operate manual and / or semi-automatic flame cutting equipment.
- Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of Standard General’s Code of Ethics.
- Perform duties safely around mobile equipment and have a high sense of safety awareness while performing work.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Education, Training and CertificationsValid Driver’s License.Must have reliable transportation.Grade 12 or GED preferred.Apprentice IDTechnical Skills
