Position Summary :

The AutoCAD Technician will play a vital role by assisting the Order Desk Supervisor, Account Managers, and Sales Director in facilitating workflow of the department ensuring accurate and timely processing of client orders, including specialty requests.

The AutoCAD Technician is responsible for using the AutoCAD program to design, resize, modify, and create drawings for custom and special window requests.  The Technician will provide specialty guidance and administrative support in processing orders through our internal system in a timely and accurate manner. Partnering closely with key clients and the production team, the AutoCAD Technician will answer queries, provide status updates, and escalate arising issues to the appropriate parties. The Technical Representative will be knowledgeable about product specifications and technical details by participating in training and understanding window dimensions, features, and types.  Working within a small team, the right candidate will be passionate about delivering high quality work, with a “roll up your sleeves” kind of attitude. This is a full-time on site position which requires strong organizational, interpersonal, detail-oriented skills and someone who is well versed in AutoCAD, window specifications, and data entry.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Receive verbal and written requests from Management and clients and produce CAD drawings accordingly using 2D and 3D designs.
  • Ensure orders are inputted into the system accurately and timely.
  • Design, revise, and plot speciality and shape drawings as required by production, client requests, and Management.
  • Answer incoming requests from customers, collect information, and provide technical guidance on window specifications or project status updates.
  • Maintain electronic drawing files in an organized manner within the Company network.
  • Collaborate with external departments, including Logistics and Production to facilitate timely specialty and shape order completion.
  • Foster strong relationships with customers by answering queries in a timely manner, providing accurate information on specialty shapes and product specifications, issuing quotes, and collaborating with departments to meet customer needs.
  • Enter orders received through fax, email, and Fenevision system on a timely basis as dedicated priority.
  • Ensure service requests are screened, processed, and closed utilizing RMA and existing service modules.
  • Follow up with clients to extract feedback on quality of service received ensuring high level of satisfaction.
  • Provide back-up support for Front Desk when required.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Skills :

  • Ability to use AutoCAD program effectively.
  • Sound understanding of window production and technical product specifications.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate as a strong team player.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, MS Excel, and databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate measurements.
  • Time management and project prioritization skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Education & Experience :

  • Post Graduate education.
  • Minimum of 3 years CAD work experience, both 2D and 3D.
  • 2+ years customer service experience within windows manufacturing industry.
  • Hands-on experience with data entry, reporting, and scheduling.
