The Alexa Calendar org helps family members communicate and coordinate efficiently and delightfully. We are working to fundamentally innovate on Alexa’s personal features to make them much smarter via an AI that powers the Family Assistant.

As a Software Development Engineer for Alexa Calendar, you will be responsible for influencing and shaping the direction of our services as well as mentor junior members of the team.
You will define, plan, and execute on deliverables that drive game changing improvements for customers. Alexa Calendar operates at large scale and is highly available, so a passion and discipline around operational excellence is key.
Key job responsibilities
- Key contributor to the architectural shape and direction for the next evolution of the product.
- Collaborate with product management, UX, and cross-functional teams to define and deliver end-to-end customer experiences that are intelligent and personalized.
- Display a passion and discipline around operational excellence, by incorporating and training on best practices.
- Hire and Mentor junior members of the team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
