Job Description
We are seeking a Pension Team Lead to join our BPA team in Mississauga.
The Pension Supervisor is responsible for the effective day-to-day administration of our Client Pension Plans. This individual will lead a team of pension professionals.
The Pension Team Lead will :
- Provides leadership and motivation to team responsible for maintaining accurate defined benefit and / or defined contribution pension plan records, calculations and communication based on plan provisions, actuarial assumptions, and legislative rules.
- Performs peer reviews and participates in production of daily work, yearend validations, annual statements, and regulatory filings.
- Runs reports and provides analysis of team and client metrics to managers.
- Manages requests, deadlines, workloads, and staff assignments to meet client deliverables.
- Ensures team meets company and client service standards.
- Develops, coordinates / facilitates, and maintains training for staff on systems, administrative processes, plan interpretations and current legislative requirements.
- Resolves and troubleshoots issues that arise.
- Handles escalations from members and clients.
- Participates in projects and company initiatives to find and implement new processes, compliance, and solutions.
- Responsible for internal controls and accuracy.
- Participates in recruitment of new staff and interviews.
- Facilitates performance reviews and manages personnel and HR policies.
- Monitors and maintains high team engagement and morale.
- Collaborates with other members of the BPA pension teams to support overall department goals and objectives.
- Contributes to business growth as a key member of the company’s leadership team.
To be successful as a Pension Team Lead with BPA, you will need :
Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a customer service environment, preferable related to definedbenefit pension administration.
Detailed knowledge of defined benefit pension plan administration, actuarial assumptions, CIA recommendations, and legislative regulations for Ontario and other jurisdictions.Ability to interpret, apply and communicate changes to pension provisions and regulations.Strong people, leadership, and coaching skills.All-star candidates will have :
