Job description

The Director of Corporate Strategy & Stakeholder Relations provides strategic direction and oversight to cross divisional corporate services of business for Build NS.The position supports the VP Strategy, People and Culture, to ensure that Build NS is strategically positioned to deliver on corporation requirements and government's priorities. The director supports the strategic planning process and document preparation. The position provides oversight, leadership and direction on several corporate services, including but not limited to : stakeholder management, strategy, culture, records management, privacy (FOIPOP) and IT. The position leads the development and revision of policies and strategies to support the strategic priorities of the corporation, the overall culture of the corporation and the recruitment, attraction and retention of an engaged and high performing workforce.As the Chair of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and Principal Representative to the Senior Director Group. the position provides coordination and leadership and contributes to the collaborative efforts of the division. This position will also focus on continuous improvement through the identification of trends and best practice research, evidence-based decision making and a commitment to client service excellence. ResponsibilitiesSupports, coordinates and delivers the strategic planning process and reporting for the corporation by providing leadership and direction for strategic planning, priority setting, and oversight. Provide strategic direction to ensure the corporation's mandate, mission and vision are aligned with government and departmental mandates. Identifies critical projects and opportunities necessary to meet the corporation's mandate and provide liaison, coordination, change leadership direction and influence as required. Fosters a diverse network of strategic partnerships and relationships within the province and across the country and works collaboratively to identify opportunities and leverages these relationships to optimize results. Ensures the corporation is seen as a collaborative partner at all levels by providing direction, strategy, conflict resolution and champions stakeholder engagement.Provide BNS leaders with the resources to design and deliver large scale changes to ensure a common and consistent awareness of the strategic operational and tactical environment required for informed change activities. Leads, facilitates and encourages discussion and engagement at all levels of the agency providing clear briefings and helping management and staff to learn understand adjust and grow with participate, contribute to and own the agency wide transformation.Have a comprehensive understanding of the local, national and international political landscape as it relates to the corporation and be able to support project delivery teams as required.Provides management for all activities relating to requests for access to information pursuant to FOIPOP and ensuring the corporation is in full compliance with the FOIPOP act.Acts as Executive Clerk for the senior management team by providing coordination and leadership.This position will lead the Employee Engagement Committee for BNS to ensure an effective people centric model to make sure the corporation is a better place to work by establishing a welcoming, inclusive and engaged staff.This position will focus on continuous improvement through the identification of trends and best practice research, evidence-based decision making and a commitment to client service excellence.
