Job description

Robert Half is seeking a Software Engineer with 3+ years of experience developing in mixed technology environments. The ideal candidate is a versatile Software Engineer with a strong ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly. While experience with Python or SQL is a plus, the primary focus is on software development, not data engineering. This is Software Engineer opportunity will have an initial term of 12-months.

In this role, you will work on Microsoft Fabric , collaborating with a multi-national team in a hybrid work environment. This is an exciting opportunity for a growth-oriented engineer who enjoys problem-solving and working on innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop, test, and maintain software solutions in a diverse technology stack .
  • Quickly learn and integrate new tools and technologies, including Microsoft Fabric .
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust applications.
  • Write clean, scalable, and efficient code following best practices.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications for performance and scalability.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Work Environment :

  • Hybrid role – must be able to work on-site in Edmonton or Calgary as required.
  • Work with a global team on cutting-edge technologies and projects.

    • Qualifications :

  • 3+ years of software development experience in a mixed technology environment.
  • Possess a Computer Sciences Degree
  • Strong ability to learn new technologies and adapt quickly.
  • Experience with Python or SQL is a nice-to-have but not required.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language.
  • Solid understanding of software development principles, object-oriented design, and best practices .
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.

    • Nice-to-Have :

  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric or a willingness to learn.
  • Experience working in enterprise or multi-national environments .
  • Familiarity with cloud-based development and modern DevOps practices.
