POSITION DESCRIPTION :

Garden Valley School Division invites applications for the part-time (.50 FTE) term position of Literacy Support Teacher at Southwood School from September 2, 2025 to December 19, 2025 .

Garden Valley School Division is a dynamic and thriving educational community located in the heartland of Manitoba's beautiful Pembina Valley Region. With a student population of about 4,300, the division encompasses 14 schools in the communities of Winkler, Plum Coulee, Schanzenfeld, Hochfeld, Blumenfeld, Reinland, and Blumengart.

REQUIRED AND / OR PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Hold or be eligible to hold a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate.
  • Current knowledge of effective literacy instruction and assessment practices
  • Strong planning and communication skills
  • The ability to work alongside teachers, colleagues and contribute collaboratively as a team member.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check & Child Abuse Registry Check

SCHOOL INFORMATION :

Southwood School is located 5 kms south of the City of Winkler in the growing community of Schanzenfeld, MB. Southwood is a Kindergarten to Grade 3 School, with an estimated enrolment of approximately 180 students, a teaching faculty of 16 and support staff of 10.
