Role & Responsibilities :

The Engineering Manager is accountable for leading and managing the engineering activities of projects , ensuring that all technical aspects align with project objectives .

Lead engineering teams and service providers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Collaborate with the Project Services Manager to engage and onboard necessary engineering service providers.

Develop comprehensive engineering plans for both study phases and project execution.

Supervise on-site engineering activities, ensuring compliance with approved designs, standards, and specifications.

Identify opportunities for design and layout optimization in partnership with engineering and project teams.

Provide technical expertise to resolve design and implementation challenges during project execution.

Oversee QA / QC processes performed by engineering service providers to uphold high engineering standards.

Work closely with the Procurement team to define purchase orders and contractor scope requirements.

Ensure engineering designs are effective and aligned with project objectives.

Maintain strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout project execution.

Implement and oversee risk management strategies to mitigate engineering-related risks.

Serve as the primary technical liaison with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.

Prepare and deliver technical reports, design reviews, and progress updates to project stakeholders.

Foster clear communication and collaboration among engineering providers to align with project goals.

Allocate resources effectively to achieve project milestones and objectives.

Delegate tasks efficiently, monitor progress, and provide coaching and feedback to team members.

Develop and implement professional growth plans for key team members.

Promote continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and technologies to enhance project outcomes.

Stay informed of the latest advancements in mining engineering and integrate innovative solutions into projects.

Cultivate a culture of innovation and proactive problem-solving within the engineering team.

Qualifications / Requirements :

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

Minimum of 15 years of experience in engineering roles, with at least 5 years in a managerial position within the mining industry

Proven experience in leading mining projects including both underground and surface operations.

Stron g technical knowledge of mining engineering principles, practices, and technologies

Full proficiency in Civil / Structural Engineering and Underground projects

Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and project management tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).

Excellent communication skills
