The Quest :

  • Execute tests at the various stages of development, including but not limited to test passes, ad-hoc testing, exploratory testing, validating user story acceptance criteria, and regression testing
  • Learn the workflows and tools used by your team and provide feedback on how the team could improve on approaches based on your day-to-day exposure to them
  • Deep dive into content when investigating an issue to pinpoint the root cause and provide a detailed bug description to the team
  • Identify gaps in test coverage and work with the team to close any gaps
  • Communicate and collaborate with teammates to seek guidance when blocked

The Skills :

  • Passion for games with a commitment to quality
  • 1+ years of prior experience in a similar game development role
  • Technical understanding of popular mobile game development toolsets
  • Ability to update and execute scripts to support daily workflows
  • Desire to develop test capabilities with a focus on black box and test efficiency improvements
  • Ability to leverage understanding game systems and content to uncover issues during each stage of development
  • Desire to improve and grow yourself and continually optimize your test approach
  • Knowledge of and experience with testing fundamentals
  • Understanding of product development cycles
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or other defect-tracking software
  • Flexible and team-oriented with excellent collaboration skills
  • Previous exposure to Quality Assurance Processes and Methodologies
  • Experience with testing a game in various phases of its development, from pre-alpha to live deployments
  • Understanding and proven aptitude in defect identification, research, review, documentation, communication and assessment
  • Understanding and proven aptitude in test case management within a designated timeframe
  • Demonstrated prioritization skills
  • Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Highly self-driven and proactive
  • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility
  • A passion for delivering high quality games
  • An overall passion for video and mobile games and devices
  • Ability to learn, plan and be organized
  • Open and honest approach to challenges
