Role : Backup Cloud Engineer

Job Description :

• Manage and experience on Veritas and Cohesity backup tools
• Manage and troubleshoot daily backup operations across environments, ensuring smooth and consistent data protection services.
• Define and enforce policies and standards for NetBackup usage, managing all application infrastructure changes through change and configuration management.
• Oversee capacity and resource management, addressing bottlenecks and proactively identifying areas for optimization and improvement.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards for releases, and managed escalations to clients or third parties as necessary for incident resolution.
• Performe root cause analysis for high-priority incidents (P1-P4) and implemented changes in collaboration with internal and client teams, following established incident, problem, and change management protocols.
• Maintaine service performance standards, meeting service levels and quality expectations, and promptly escalated any risks or service-related issues.
• Manage and troubleshot tape backup solutions, including tape libraries, tape encryption, and NDMP backup configurations.
• NetBackup installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting across Windows, UNIX, and Solaris platforms, including Master Server, Media Server, and client levels.
• Performe NetBackup catalog recovery and supported backup restores, addressing critical data recovery needs.
• NetBackup installations upgrades on all levels (Master Server, Media Server and Clients).
• Capacity planning and availability management, collaborating with clients and third parties to ensure resource alignment with operational needs.
• Engaging with vendors and client engineering teams to address escalated issues, implement new solutions, and coordinate code upgrades.
• Configure, monitor, and reporton the entire backup environment, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
• Resolve high-priority (P1 and P2) incidents and mitigated performance issues within the backup environment.
• Identify and proposed process improvements, presenting continuous improvement plans for client and management review.
• Followed strict Change Management procedures for all infrastructure modifications, ensuring alignment with compliance requirements.
