Job Description

The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for building new business relationships in the defined territory as well as expanding business opportunities with existing customer base. Candidate will be required to engage in the full sales cycle from identifying opportunities to technical support of supplied product. Works closely with customers to provide technical solutions, improve overall equipment reliability and satisfy customer needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identify and secure sales opportunities to develop and grow the business, expand market share, and achieve sales forecasts.
  • Build, manage, and enhance relationships with customers in the defined territory, including decision-makers.
  • Use CRM tools to manage customer relationships, including leads, opportunities, orders, and account plans.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies and analyze customer applications for equipment reliability improvements.
  • Supervise, inspect, and troubleshoot the application, installation, modification, and commissioning of the entire product portfolio at customer sites.
  • Provide technical training and prepare reports, proposals, and quotes for product applications.
  • Observe and evaluate the customer install base, utilizing reliability management software to report on seal programs.
  • Analyze equipment surveys for inventory optimization, investigate mechanical seal failures, and recommend improvements.
  • Communicate with customers, company personnel, and vendors, and develop close working relationships with internal support staff.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to meet customer requests and organizational objectives

The Individual

  • Post- secondary education in Mechanical engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • Professional selling skills training would be an advantage.
  • 6 years of related technical sales experience selling to various markets would be an advantage.
  • Understands how to use CRM tool to manage customer relationships
  • Existing customer network in the oil and gas industry at the end user level would be an asset
