The Business Advisor 1 is responsible for initiating, maintaining, and growing valued relationships with unassigned business clients. By identifying their financial needs, the advisor provides a wide range of BlueShore Financial products and services. Through the Client Intimacy strategy and continuous client profiling, the Business Advisor 1 fosters financial wellness while contributing to the organization’s overall success. This role requires mobility across our branch network in the Sea-to-Sky corridor, supporting clients in Whistler, Pemberton, and Squamish. Responsibilities include opening accounts on-site and conducting workplace visits as needed to provide personalized financial solutions.

Key responsibilities of this role are :
- Initiates and establishes client relationships by opening business accounts, including accounts for Real Estate Lending Group credit funding, while adhering to organizational and legislated requirements; prepares all required documentation.
- Interviews business clients to determine current and future business needs to identify challenges and opportunities and act upon sales opportunities that enhance the financial wellness of their businesses.
- Promotes, negotiates and closes the sale for a full range of deposit, credit, insurance, and investment products.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the Business Advisory offering and refers more-complex needs as appropriate. Follows established guidelines for referring clients to Business Advisors for assignment.
- Establishes effective partnerships with Retail branches, BlueShore Wealth, and Real Estate Lending Group to enable a high volume of cross referrals.
- Manages all aspects of the unassigned business credit portfolio including; underwriting, monitoring, compliance and proactive client servicing.
- Performs annual Mortgage and Line of Credit reviews to ensure appropriate account conduct and usage and that the Borrower is still in good standing.
- Responsible for obtaining Inventory and Accounts Receivable (A / R) reports from clients, inputs details into margin card and monitors to protect the credit union from potential loss.
- Proactively uses BlueShore’s client relationship management system, and all other systems and tools available, to provide seamless service to clients and contribute to BlueShore Financial's growth.
- Keeps informed of competitive situations, industry trends, activities in trade area and general market information of interest to clients in order to continue to proactively meet clients’ needs and identify risks to prevent potential losses to BlueShore Financial.
- Effectively uses Insight reports and other tools to acquire and / or maintain client relationships.
- Provides guidance, support and coaching to Associates and other team members.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business preferred4-6 years’ in the financial services industry1-4 years’ in small business or commercial experience an assetProven investment and credit salesBasic understanding of financial accounting and statement analysis, environmental assessments, appraisals, credit bureaus, AR / AP and inventory listings and other documents related to credit underwritingBasic knowledge of business / statute law and practicesSolid knowledge of BlueShore Financial business banking products and servicePay Transparency
The target range of this role is $70,300 - $82,600 per year, plus a variable performance bonus. Employment offers are determined by knowledge, experience and internal equity.
This role also receives a location differential as a contribution toward the higher cost of living in this region.
