Senior Mechanical Engineer – Thermal Hydraulics

Location : RemoteSite Supporting : Wilmington, NCDuration : 18 MonthsVacancies : 1Role Summary : This position contributes to the team responsible for the Power Cycle Mechanical design of New Nuclear Power Plants. The Mechanical Engineer will perform activities within a team environment, working with a global team of partner organizations and suppliers to advance new plant detailed design and successfully deliver NPP projects.Essential ResponsibilitiesThe candidate must have demonstrated experience with the following : Lead and conduct thermal hydraulic analyses, evaluations, and verifications for the BWRX-300 Power Systems such as Condensate Feedwater System, Feedwater Heater Drain Systems and Moisture Separator Reheater System.Assist in review of vendor supplier documentation associated with secondary steam cycle Heat Exchangers.Competency in computer programs and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams. As well as experience using AFT Arrow and AFT Fathom.Perform calculations for relief valve sizing, control valve sizing, hydraulic calculations for pump sizing and piping sizing.Manage project work schedules and priorities.Provide on-time, quality delivery of equipment packages and engineering documentation in accordance with contract requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines.QualificationsMinimum of 10 years of experience in performing thermal hydraulic calculations, pump sizing, and relief valve sizing.Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant roles associated with Heat Exchanger design or vendor document reviews.Expert knowledge of relevant design codes and requirementsP.Eng.
