Reporting to the Director, Finance, Treasury & Risk, the Manager, Treasury and Finance is responsible for the on-the-job training, managing and coaching of the two direct reports.
The Treasury Manager will be responsible for overseeing the organization’s cash management, liquidity planning, banking relationships, and risk management strategies. This role requires a strong understanding of treasury operations, financial risk management, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Treasury Manager will collaborate with internal stakeholders, including accounting, FP&A, and business units, to optimize cash flow and support strategic financial decisions.
Note : This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.
What you’ll do
- Responsible for the daily and weekly cash reporting and forecast, optimizing liquidity portfolio yield, and performing variance analysis on cash flows.
- Manage daily banking administration and company-wide electronic payments, be the contact person to the various business units and the financial institutions on all banking matters and KYC reporting.
- Oversee the month-end duties for the treasury team, including completing and reviewing all debt-related journal entries, monthly bank reconciliation, and cheque reconciliation within the financial schedule. Post month-end, to follow up on the unreconciled differences.
- Support and review monthly treasury reports for the stakeholder.
- Ensure compliance with all loan agreements and prepare all related loan documentation for internal review and approval before submitting it to the bank.
- Develop and implement strategies to hedge foreign exchange (FX), interest rate, and commodity risks.
- Monitor market conditions and advise on financial risk management strategies.
- Maintains and contributes to the development, continuous improvement, automation, and implementation of the company-wide treasury processes, and policies, ensuring an appropriate level of internal control and transparency for all transactions.
- Design and streamline treasury processes, including but not limited to cash flow forecasts, standardizing and automating reports, and creating dashboards.
- Develop and coordinate financial models, consolidate the budget and forecast for cash outlook, and present inputs' assumptions and validation with business leaders.
- Initiates and manages the standard report formats and data definitions required for divisional standardized financial reporting.
- Provide ad hoc analysis and modeling for business operations. Acts as a key point of contact for all pre and post project reviews, providing advice, validation and co-ordination to project initiators.
- Support the year-end audit process by preparing auditors' documents and verifying financial numbers and notes in the financial statement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you’ll bring
Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Masters or Professional Designation (MBA, CPA, CFA, or CTP ) is considered an asset.Minimum 7 years of work experience in accounting or finance, with at least 5 years in a Treasury / FP&A role.Experience in financial modelling, analysis, and reporting.3+ years' experience managing team members (project or staff).Strong knowledge of cash management, debt financing, FX risk management, and banking operations. Learning agility, intellectual curiosity, and adaptability in assuming new responsibilities and handling unfamiliar material.Advanced knowledge of computer skills (primarily Excel and Microsoft products platforms), including data analysis, building complex spreadsheets for financial modeling, designing and automating spreadsheets, and preparing dashboards using business intelligence tools (Power BI, preferred Strategy).Problem solver with the ability to utilize available resources (E1, SAP BI, bank portal, internal and external resources) to seek answers.Skilled at asking probing questions to deepen understanding of business issues.Think conceptually (. use creative, conceptual, or inductive reasoning or thought processes to identify patterns in complex data).Good balance between having a big picture and a high degree of accuracy and attention to details.Multi-tasking, prioritization and planning abilities.Goal oriented, open minded, and possesses a high level of integrity.Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with higher management and others with tact and diplomacy.Ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization.Why you’ll love working here

In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
