As part of our ongoing expansion, PCA is currently seeking motivated candidates to join our team and contribute to the next phase of our continued growth.CAREER OPPORTUNITY.Bankruptcy Claims Officer (Compliance)Reporting to the Head of Compliance, the Bankruptcy Claims Officer plays a vital role in managing and supporting bankruptcy-related processes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies. Focused on maintaining the organization's integrity, the role offers an opportunity to engage in problem-solving, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and uphold high compliance standards in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.Among other responsibilities, you’ll primarily : Support daily administrative tasks associated with bankruptcy allocated files, such as data entry, file organization and client communication.Fulfil and / or service complex client transactions relating to bankruptcies with trustees.Prepare and file, Proof of Claim on behalf of creditors in bankruptcy cases, in compliance with Canadian federal and provincial bankruptcy legislation.Collaborate with trustees, bankruptcy courts, and legal professionals to ensure the prompt and accurate submission of claims, addressing any questions or concerns that may arise.Conduct regular research on legal precedents, claim statuses, and debtor details to assist with claim filing and collection efforts.Review, organize and file debtor information to ensure accuracy of all filed claims with trustees.Maintain a well-organized folder with all relevant details of filed claims and all supporting documents for reference and audit trails.Track progress and provide insightful reports for clients and internal teams, highlighting key developments and outcomes of claims and collection status.Flag new legal developments in the field of Proof of Claim and any applicable statutes.Assist the compliance deportment with other tasks as needed.WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?Permanent full-time position in a rapidly growing company.Competitive benefits package featuring a group insurance program.Voluntary retirement savings plan including employer contribution.Free access to a state-of-the-art physical conditioning center (Kirkland, QC office only).Free on-site parking (Kirkland, QC office only).Access to PCA’s Global Career Path for employee development.Employee assistance program accessible always.Paid time-off through various options.WHAT IT TAKES TO BE AN IDEAL CANDIDATE.Practical experience filing Proof of Claims under Canadian bankruptcy law, with knowledge of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, Collection and Debt Settlement Services Act, and other relevant laws and industry best practices.Solid understanding of areas such as consumer proposals, credit counseling, and fraud prevention.Familiarity with financial products like personal loans, overdrafts, and credit lines.Ability to interpret statements of accounts and other banking documents.Bilingual fluency in English and French, with strong writing skills in both languages.Banking or collections experience, with a knowledge of operational compliance considered an asset.High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor’s degree in finance or related field is highly preferred).Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.Proven skills in negotiation, solution-finding, and decision-making.High moral character, punctuality, reliability, and professionalism in client and team interactions.WORK SCHEDULE.This is a hybrid position requiring 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
