Senior Software Designer

Does work and is capable of being almost entirely self-directed (i.e., requires very little management). Able to act as a lead or supervisor to others. Either makes decisions or acts to help management make decisions. Under general direction, participates as a high-level technical expert in design development, coding, testing, and debugging new software or significant enhancements to existing software. Works with technical staff to understand problems with software and develops specifications to resolve them. May act as team leader on less complex projects. Assists in training less experienced technical staff. Works under the general direction of a senior system integrator, project manager or a functional IT manager.
