Metallurgical Process Engineer Ingénieur de procédés métallurgiques

We have an exciting contract opportunity for a Metallurgical Process Engineer (MPE) to work on site with our Montreal Client. This is a Contract to Perm position.

The MPE will work within the component repair engineering group and will coordinate support to their dedicated processes. Typical metallurgical processes used are welding, heat treating, and thermal spray. The coordination tasks consist in making sure that all the employees working with these processes have all they need to deliver what is expected from them.

Nous avons une opportunité de contrat passionnante pour un ingénieur de procédés métallurgiques (MPE) pour travailler sur site avec notre client de Montréal. Il s'agit d'un poste de contrat à durée déterminée.

Le MPE travaillera au sein du groupe d'ingénierie de réparation des composants et coordonnera le soutien à leurs processus dédiés. Les processus métallurgiques typiques utilisés sont le soudage, le traitement thermique et la projection thermique. Les tâches de coordination consistent à s'assurer que tous les employés travaillant avec ces processus ont tout ce dont ils ont besoin pour fournir ce qui est attendu d'eux.

General Duties and Responsibilities : :

• Coordinate with interfacing teams (Operations, Quality, Metrology, Maintenance, Customer Business, HS&E and sub-contractors).
• Create, amend, and validate process datacards for the Client’s processes and relevant sub / contractors.
• Follow change control processes as per the Quality Management System requirement.
• Implement new repair capability
• Provide Shop floor support to the operations team
• Follow-up and close Business Improvement actions.
• Provide disposition on Metrology reports.
• Provide guidance to non-compliant components.
• Maintain NADCAP certification
• Management of outside lab account
• Management of operator certifications

Fonctions et responsabilités générales :

Requirements :

Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a material specialty from a recognized university

Fluency in written and spoken English and French

Familiar with thermal spray and heat treatment methods and equipment relevant to the aerospace industry

Competent using Microsoft suite of software

Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada

Must be eligible for the Quebec Order of Engineer
