Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the equipment / supply needs of the endoscopy and / or operating room are met. They will provide assistance to the operating room nurses (endoscopy) with appropriate patient needs, including positioning and transport. They will be responsible for the immediate bedside cleaning of endoscopes following procedures, cleaning of the endoscopy suite / operating rooms between cases and setting up endoscopes for next procedure in a manner that adheres to guidelines and standard set by organizations such as CSA (Canadian Standards Association), PIDAC (Provincial Infections Diseases Advisory Committee), CSAO (Central Service Association of Ontario) and Health Canada.
They will also be responsible for the management of the case cart / picking system, including JIT and non-JIT supplies and instrumentation, as well as the management and assistance of the reprocessing needs of the department as needed. The MDR team is responsible for effectively communicating with the team to ensure all reprocessing needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
