Your role
Radio-Canada is looking for a Senior Finance and Business Analyst to join the French Radio team.
You will be a key member of ICI PREMIÈRE’s finance and administrative management team, working directly with program and operations leaders.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Budgeting and Internal Reporting, you will be responsible for the business management of the day-to-day activities of multiple radio shows.
This role includes a broad range of responsibilities.
Key tasks :
- Perform planning, budgeting, analysis, forecasting and business reporting for the shows under your responsibility.
- Track and control production costs, and authorize vendor expenses, reimbursements and freelance / talent fees.
- Plan the hiring of contract and freelance employees on your shows with radio leadership and production teams, following up and co-ordinating with the administrative team.
- Interpret, explain, report on and provide advice on business management issues to senior management and program producers.
- Develop and manage annual programming budgets in conjunction with radio leadership and program producers.
- Negotiate or help negotiate contracts with internal and external talent based on project needs, working in conjunction with Human Resources and Business & Rights to ensure that staffing and contracting adhere to agreed terms;
ensure compliance with labour agreements, corporate policies and corporate / industry business practices.
Perform other related duties as required.
What you bring :
- University degree in business, accounting or a related field
- Professional accounting designation (or currently working toward); CPA an asset
- At least three years of progressively responsible related experience in finance and administrative management
- Proven success in analyzing financial and business operations
- Knowledge of the French-language media production environment
- Experience applying multiple policies and collective agreements, and knowledge of the UDA / SARTEC / CFM agreements an asset
- Knowledge of Livelink (contract creation), SAP, Workday and Cognos systems an asset
- Excellent command of French
- Proficiency in English an asset
