Responsibilities :

  • Identifying and analysing technical and design hazards and risks.
  • Setting up effective management / assurance systems and procedures.
  • Managing activities with significant uncertainty of solution or outcome.
  • Positive & proactive approach to engaging with the various project delivery teams (PDT's).
  • Interacting with clients and other stakeholders to ensure that objectives are being met.
  • Liaising with the Metrolinx PDTs from various sectors to ensure all works are aligned with the common goal for the rail corridor and overarching GO expansion program.
  • Ensuring that appropriate behaviours and 'best for program' approaches are always adopted.
  • Undertaking design reviews to ensure projects comply with their scope, process, and deliverable requirements.
  • Leading integrated design review meetings and interface discussions.
  • Competent at reviewing Primavera P6 schedules and undertaking analysis of design and construction activities.
  • Working closely with corridor leads to ensure consistent delivery of all discipline designs.
  • Overseeing design risk management and issues resolution.
  • Making proposals for innovative construction techniques.
  • Developing understanding of schemes in sufficient detail to support meetings and deconflictions.
  • Minimum Requirements :

  • Strong experience across all technical delivery requirements.
  • Strategic and detailed understanding of construction methodology and planning.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; competent computer skills.
  • Knowledge of BIM and ability to support the BIM strategy.
  • Degree or equivalent with professional work experience in engineering discipline.
  • Membership with key industry professional / chartered institutions.
  • Proven track record in multi-discipline engineering management in railway infrastructure.
  • Knowledge and experience in multi-discipline railway projects.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering and safety assurance.
  • Preferable : Professional Engineer of Ontario or equivalent.
