- Minimum ten (10) years of machining experience.
- Experience setting up and running DMG Mori Mill-Turns, Mazak Integrex, or similar mill-turn machines.
- Proficient in programming and editing with Siemens control.
- Extensive knowledge of tooling, calibrated equipment, part loading & clamping, and machine maintenance.
- Experience in Oil & Gas and Mining machining.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Keen attention to detail and meticulous delivery of the highest quality standards and accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Sigma Six, and / or other Continuous Improvement experience is an asset.
- Must be open to continuous learning and improvement.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to program and edit machine codes.
What You Will Do :
- Ensure the health and safety of yourself, your peers, and customers in an environmentally friendly manner.
- Machine various oilfield and mining components in single or multiple operations, including performing complex programming.
- Perform full set-up and operate 5-axis mill-turn machine with Siemens control.
- Perform full set-up and operate machines on trial runs to verify the accuracy of machine settings or programmed controlled data;
perform first article manufacturing when required.
- Provide training and mentoring to new employees as needed.
- Promote a positive work environment and adopt a culture of continuous improvement in the areas of quality, health & safety, and productivity.
- Assist in overseeing the execution of work orders issued to the shop, documenting, and reporting any deficiencies with recommended effective solutions.
- Record measurements and fill out inspection log sheets as required.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines as required.
- Communicate with team members, team leads, and managers regarding specific job workflow, incidents, and other relevant information.
- Recommend measures to improve quality results, production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
