Reporting to the Director, Pursuits, the Co-Op Student, Pursuits is a member of the Client Development group. The individual will support the Pursuits team in ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of proposal materials.

The Co-Op Student will provide support through a broad range of duties, including proofreading proposals, assisting with the drafting of lawyer bios, and monitoring the lifecycle of a proposal using Salesforce.

We are seeking a Co-Op Student for the fall term, 4-8 month contract.

Major Responsibilities :

  • Assist the Pursuits team in the assembly and production of proposals and credentials packages
  • Coordinate RFP / credentials tracking process in Salesforce
  • Monitor procurement websites, ensuring RFP addendums are distributed on a timely basis
  • Use Salesforce to update opportunities and run custom reports
  • Learn the pursuit / business development life cycle by supporting follow up on open opportunities
  • Learn how lawyers practices can be versatile and diverse, and gain a better understanding of how the various practice areas overlap by supporting customized bio development, collection, and filing
  • Learn the creative process by working with Pursuits team to develop new templates
  • Exercise writing and editing skills by supporting the development of new content for the content library and proofreading proposals as needed
  • Develop research skills by conducting background research on prospective clients during the pitch lifecycle, including industry-specific information

Position Requirements

Education and Experience

Currently enrolled in university or college. Some experience in the professional services industry is a benefit.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong, demonstrable, skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Extremely well organized with superb attention to detail and excellent time management skills
  • Document design and assembly experience is a benefit
  • An ability to develop and maintain sound and cordial working relationships
  • Pro-active thinker with the ability and willingness to learn
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours in a hybrid environment as required
  • A team player who also works well independently

We are currently working in a hybrid work arrangement, which includes a requirement to work primarily in the office and flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week
