JOB SUMMARY

The Production Graphic Designer (a detailed oriented Mac based Adobe Illustrator expert) will create, review and modify art layouts for perm. and temp. retail displays that to meet print and dieline specifications for varying print methods (Digital, Litho, Flexo). The designer will work with brand assets or create / modify graphics for print. The designer will work closely with Project Managers, Sales, Creative, Production and Structural Designers to achieve the above criteria under demanding deadlines with no margin for errors. This position will be hybrid but does require working on-site regularly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that all graphic layouts meet design and print production requirements for the specified method of reproduction (Litho, Flexo, Silkscreen, Digital)
  • Modify, revise and update packaging and retail display art layouts with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop to the final dieline spec’s and production tolerances
  • Convert and mark-up structural dielines with print and tolerance information
  • Review and approval of hard and soft content and colour proofs
  • Maintain continual, good, clear communication and coordination with project members (Project Managers, Sales, Production, Structural Designers) to ensure that graphic project requirements meet the expected quality and within specified timeline
  • Communicate, prioritize and coordinate workload with Production Design Team, Manager, PM’s and Sales to clarify requirements and resolve any potential deadline delays
  • Liaise with clients and suppliers as required to improve project accuracy, efficiency, and troubleshoot potential design, production or technical issues

ACADEMIC AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

  • Graphic design diploma from college or technical school plus minimum three to five years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • REQUIRED SKILLS :

  • Strong Adobe Illustrator skills, InDesign & Photoshop
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Works well individually and in a team environment.
  • Very detailed oriented, organized and skilled at time management
