Overview

Alberta Justice has a diverse and comprehensive articling program. It gives students extensive opportunities for :

  • courtroom experience
  • legal research and writing.

Articling opportunities :

We will hire up to 10 articling students for the 2026-2027 articling year for the ACPS Regional Offices listed below.

All articling positions have been filled for 2025-2026.

Alberta Crown Prosecution Service (ACPS) Regional

Students working in ACPS Regional Offices will have a prosecutions-focused article with extensive :

  • courtroom experience
  • research and legal writing opportunities.
  • Students are placed in one of 11 ACPS Regional Offices :

  • Fort McMurray
  • Fort Saskatchewan
  • Grande Prairie
  • Hinton
  • Lethbridge
  • Medicine Hat
  • Peace River
  • Red Deer
  • Slave Lake
  • St. Paul
  • Wetaskiwin
  • Students will be given an opportunity to remotely assist in the Appeals and Specialized Office and with a Legal Services Division (LSD) team during their articles.

    Eligibility :

    All applicants must possess a valid Alberta driver’s license.

    All applicants must be eligible to article in Alberta for the 2026-2027 articling year.

    Successful candidates will have demonstrated :

  • academic excellence
  • superior advocacy skills
  • Final Candidates will need to undergo a Criminal Records Check.
