Good Behaviour is Hiring a Director of Operations

Good Behaviour is looking for a Director of Operations to lead culinary and operational excellence across our three Toronto locations. We’re a fast-growing, high-energy sub shop and ice cream brand that blends efficiency with quality. With locations at 342 Westmoreland Ave. N, 1324A Gerrard East, and 335 Queen St. W - and plans to grow from 3 to 7 locations within the next 5 years (not including seasonal pop-ups) - we need a leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to scale with us.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee, manage, and standardize daily operations across all locations
  • Ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency in both submarine sandwich and ice cream service
  • Train and lead up to 15 management staff and up to 70 hourly employees, handling scheduling, performance evaluations, and team development
  • Develop and refine menu offerings while maintaining food quality and presentation standards
  • Monitor inventory levels and oversee supply chain efficiency
  • Set and achieve sales, food cost (COGs), and operational targets
  • Maintain compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Work closely with leadership to implement new processes, improve workflows, and drive profitability

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in a professional restaurant or kitchen environment
  • 5+ years in a leadership role managing multi-unit operations or as a Director of Ops, Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine, or equivalent in the front of house
  • Strong leadership skills - this isn’t a role to grow into; we need someone ready to lead from day one
  • A deep understanding of restaurant operations, including both FOH and BOH systems
  • Must have experience leading operations greater than $5 million / annual in revenue
  • Strong administrative and computer skills, with the ability to manage budgets and optimize processes
  • A solid grasp of food service trends, cost control (food, labour and operational), and team management
  • While extensive BOH experience isn’t mandatory, candidates must bring strengths in other areas to compensate
  • The ability to work under pressure, maintain high standards, and inspire a team
