Accounting Consultant

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller for a 6-month contract to support a dynamic organization in the farming and processing sector. This role involves overseeing multi-entity financial reporting, consolidation, and compliance as they navigate their way through a complex year end process.

Responsibilities :

• Prepare detailed financial statements, including required memos, in compliance with ASPE.
• Support the financial operations and consolidations of 15 entities (6 operating entities) varying in complexity.
• Oversee and reconcile foreign currency transactions in USD, CAD, and possibly JPY.
• Use Caseware and SAP Business One for financial reporting and systems management.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, maintaining accuracy and timeliness across all deliverables.
• Work closely with stakeholders to address queries and provide clear analysis for financial reporting.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in the accounting field, preferably with experience in an inventory focused industry
• Proficiency in using accounting software systems / ERP, ideally SAP Business One, or SAP S / 4 Hana
• Comprehensive understanding of all accounting functions
• Demonstrated experience in Auditing, with experience working in Public Practice
• Ability to prepare Consolidated Financial Statements
• Experience with Year End Closings
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred)
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
