The Director, Global Demand Planning & IBP is responsible for leading an effective monthly IBP process and Management Business Review to enable AGO to achieve its annual plan and strategic objectives. This role is a key advisor to the Executive Leadership Team, ensuring critical decisions are brought to the appropriate IBP step, while maintaining a strong and accurate 36-month demand plan with key insights into market drivers across the Global Generics business.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate the departmental vision and objectives, translating them into annual area performance goals while ensuring alignment with Apotex’s strategic business objectives.
  • Lead monthly IBP process for Apotex and facilitates the Management Business Review (MBR), Integrated Reconciliation (IR), as well as the Demand Review (DR).
  • Champions the IBP process as the way to improve decision making and utilization of Apotex’s resources to deliver our annual and strategic commitments.
  • Provides coaching to executive owners and process leaders to ensure plans and decisions are well developed, made in a timely way at the appropriate level, and clearly communicated to all cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Consolidates a 36-month rolling Demand Plan in dollars / units, which becomes the basis for latest estimates, operating plans, and financial projections including the annual Commercial and Operations budgets.
  • Leads the global bid review and demand control processes, working closely with the Global Supply, 3rd Party Supply, Site Supply Execution, Commercial and API teams to find solutions to support revenue, margin and cashflow growth and service performance.
  • Collaborates with New Product Launch and Commercial Operations to build launch demand into the overall demand plans and ensure post-launch service is maintained.
  • Responsible for leading projects to implement new or improved processes and systems to improve Demand Management across all markets.
  • Builds strong knowledge of all markets including Consumer Products, and acts as the “Voice of the Customer” within Global Supply Operations.
  • Participate and lead performance conversations with employees, including monthly one-on-ones, to connect on performance and support employee development.
  • Utilize open, honest, two-way communication to build trust-based relationships with employees, business partners and direct leader.
  • Create a culture which values trust and provides the opportunity for employee development and growth.
  • Utilize your networks to attract and hire talent in a comprehensive, differentiated and consistent manner essential to our continued growth.
  • Ensure adherence of team members (direct reports) with all compliance programs and company policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

  • Education
  • Post-Secondary BS / BA degree in Business or a technical field.

  • M.B.A. and APICS certification would be an asset.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Experience leading teams and influencing activities across functions without formal authority to deliver results.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, technical and non-technical information to all organization levels.
  • Strong strategy development, process design and implementation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills required including Excel. Ideally has experience with statistical forecasting tools including SAP APO / SAP IBP.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems using personal knowledge and relevant tools.
  • Ability to appreciate and honour differing backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences.
  • Self-Motivated, who can drive for results.
  • Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in supply chain, finance or commercial operations in planning, project and execution roles.

  • Experience in and knowledge of the Canadian and / or US generic pharmaceutical industry preferred.
