Job description

Job Title : Sr. Carpenter

Location : Greater Toronto Area (In Person)

Job Type : Full-Time, Permanent

Salary : $25.00 to $30.00 per hour (based on experience)

About the Role :

We are hiring a Senior Carpenter on behalf of our clients in the construction industry in the Greater Toronto Area . The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in carpentry, including framing, finishing, and installation. This role requires leadership, precision, and a strong understanding of construction techniques and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities :

Carpentry Work :

  • Perform high-quality carpentry work, including framing, drywall installation, cabinetry, and finishing.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and construction plans accurately.
  • Cut, measure, and assemble wood and other materials for various structures.

Project Management & Supervision :

  • Lead and supervise junior carpenters and helpers.
  • Ensure all work meets project specifications and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with other trades and contractors to ensure project efficiency.
  • Tool & Equipment Handling :

  • Operate and maintain carpentry tools and machinery.
  • Ensure proper usage and care of all construction equipment.
  • Quality Control & Safety Compliance :

  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure work meets quality and safety standards.
  • Adhere to workplace safety regulations and enforce compliance among team members.
  • Material Management :

  • Select and prepare materials for projects.
  • Manage inventory and coordinate material orders as needed.
  • Schedule :
  • Day shifts.
  • Monday to Friday with occasional weekend availability.
  • Requirements :

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of professional carpentry experience .
  • English proficiency at CLB 5 or higher .
  • Strong knowledge of construction techniques, blueprints, and building codes.
  • Experience working with power tools, hand tools, and construction machinery.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
