Our Victoria law firm client is seeking a contract Finance Manager to join their team for 12-15 months.
The Finance Manager will provide guidance and hands on managerial support to the finance department for full-cycle accounting tasks and responsibilities in collaboration with the Finance Partner, and other members of the law firm on all finance-related matters to ensure the firm’s financial sustainability and contributions to advance the practice of Aboriginal law. The Finance Manager will :
- Oversee all financial operations, including planning, resourcing and training.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end reconciliations, reports, and filings.
- Measure, review, and report on Key Performance Measures.
- Prepare, amend and track cash flow spending against the approved annual budget.
- Provide annual review calculations for billing rates, salaries, targets, and bonuses.

Advanced use and knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint).Familiarity with accounting software and document management systems.Experience working with Indigenous Nations, communities, businesses, or organizations would be considered an asset.The ideal candidate for this position will meet the following requirements :
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA or equivalent) designation is preferred.A bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred. However, a degree in business administration, economics, or other related discipline may be considered if accompanied by significant accounting experience.Canadian work experience in a financial management position (3+ years) with familiarity of the legal services industry or similar professional services, preferred.Experience overseeing accounting activities and responsibilities of a dynamic and collaborative finance team to ensure productivity and management of workflow.Extensive use of a computer with advanced technical skills will be required.Open to continuous learning and experiences working with Indigenous nations, communities, businesses, and organizations will be required.If you are interested in learning more about this exciting career opportunity - please forward your resume quoting JO - 05150-0013155339.
