About the Role

Are you looking to use your expert accounting skills in an industry that supports and protects explorers and heroes? We could use your expertise on our team! As an Manager of Financial Reporting, you will apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.

You will maintain and oversee the control of accounts and records in such areas as disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income.

You will analyze financial information, transactions, reports, and reviews to verify the accuracy, review balance sheet and profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports, design, modify, install, and / or maintain accounting systems to ensure adequate recognition of financial transactions.

You will be responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures. You will also manage a group of accountants including review of completed work, providing feedback and managing workloads, hires, trains, and retains competent accounting staff.

Key Responsibilities :

Prepare internal and external financial statements using Workiva, and prepare or review supplemental schedules and analyses.

Coordinate, assist and respond to the external auditors in their reviews of the quarterly financial statements and year-end audits.

Assist the General Ledger team with the monthly close process including preparation or review of journal entries, lease accounting, trend analysis, and account reconciliations.

Research, document and communicate new accounting and reporting developments relevant to the company and address ad-hoc technical accounting queries.

Research and prepare technical accounting memos.

Take the lead on special projects within the accounting function, researching issues and proposing potential solutions and alternatives, discussing with key stakeholders, and ultimately contributing to improved accounting processes.

Review new vendor contracts on a quarterly basis to identify any unusual accounting impacts and confirm accounting treatment.

Assist with the establishment, documentation, and maintenance of company accounting policies and internal controls.

Assist with various SOX compliance initiatives including key reports testing, SOC1 report reviews, and control deficiency remediation.

Provide ad-hoc financial support for information requests and company projects.

The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum Qualifications :

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field of study (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education).

Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP.

Proven leadership abilities inclusive of successful change management, mentoring, career development, training, succession planning, holding people accountable, and conducting yearly reviews.

Ability to draft technical accounting memos.

Ability to assess the accounting for complex transactions through technical research.

Extensive Microsoft Excel data analysis experience.

Proficiency with automated accounting systems.

Excellent communication skills : written, verbal & presentation.

Preferred Qualifications :

Typically 1 - 4 years of relevant leadership or accounting management experience.

SAP accounting system experience.

Previous experience with Workiva.

IPO experience.

Public accounting experience.

Working knowledge of FAR, DFAR, and CAS.

Estimated Starting Salary Range :

$104,827.91 - $144,138.39
