Overall Purpose

Reporting to the Performance Analyst Lead, Human Centered Service Design, the Performance Analyst Student is part of a team responsible for building measurement into digital services, monitoring service requests and measurement data and information on the province’s digital solutions for citizens In service design, data plays a critical role in understanding user needs, evaluating service performance, and driving continuous improvement in service delivery.

The Performance Analyst Student supports the lead, working with multidisciplinary teams to establish and track meaningful metrics. This individual collects data from digital analytics and other sources, makes the case for additional tracking and data collection, ensures data is accurate and significant and provides analysis and actionable insight through effective communication.

Key Responsibilities

Main duties of the Performance Analyst are supporting the Performance Analyst Lead by :

  • Identifying, collecting, and manipulating relevant and accurate data from digital and offline sources ( call center data), including by managing and developing analytics instrumentation - working with development colleagues.
  • Working with developers to overcome technical challenges occurred when building measurement into digital services, and identifying delivery obstacles to improving performance measurements and working with teams to overcome those obstacles.
  • Providing recommendations for action based on user data in easily understandable and engaging ways.
  • Supporting the development of data / analytical strategy plans and policies as well as supporting the decisions made for implementation.
  • Working with user researchers to combine the ‘what’ and ‘why’ of user behavior.
  • Communicating examples of best practice in digital performance management across government, contributing to the Service Design strategy and blogs.
  • Other duties as required.

This Job Reports to :

  • Performance Analyst Lead, Human Centered Service Design
  • Qualification and Experience :

    You are currently enrolled in an accredited university co-op program in Industrial Engineering or Computer Science, and you plan to continue your university education after this work term.

    You have :

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of tools (, Teams, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Desire to problem solving and work with others to map out business processes and to document workflows / use cases aiming to pinpoint improvements
  • Proficiency in written and verbal English communication
  • Excellent attention to detail, curiosity, drive for excellence and interest in technology
  • Knowledge of Systems & Processes and Operational Database Concepts
  • Knowledge of Agile Project Management Methodology will be considered as assets.
  • Familiarity with web development technology (HTML, JavaScript, Django, etc.)
  • Knowledge with digital analytics and tag managing tooling.
  • Knowledge with business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI, Google Looker Studio, etc.)
  • Pay Grade : HOURLY
